I wish it would rain down on me

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

I wanted cold, I wanted rain, well I got them, sort of. It's still not cold enough for November, but we're getting there.
It started raining yesterday afternoon, but the worse was this morning. Within 5 minutes my street was transformed into a river. I don't think I've seen so much water, but I could be wrong. After all the last time it rained was 4 or 5 months ago. The drawback is that the construction taking place in my street will be delayed further.

Wow, something similar happened to me in Canada last weekend. But the water was even higher in that flash flood--it was so bad the car stalled.

How do you live for 4 or even 5 months without rain?;) It must be quite exhausting. But then I always complain about the rain here. *rolls eyes* I know that these sudden showers can be too much for the sewers, streets and even motorways.
Btw, do you think you'll have snow once again this winter? I still remember the pictures from TV. It was an amazing sight!

First of all the picture is from my town, but not my street. It was worse on my street, the drivers had to slow down. Poor guys couldn't engage in their favorite sport "let's get the pedestrians wet".
We were so lucky it didn't rain during the Olympics. I almost wish it had. Then they would finally give a real solution to the problem. I don't think I'll live to see a new sewerage in this town.

That looks like my street a couple of years ago. We live on a crescent and just happen to be at the lowest point on the street. Torrential rains for the afternoon and the drains apparently clogged. We arrived home to knee deep water. Left the car and waded to the house.

Just spending a little time tonight checking out my blogmarks and choose yours for an update on what's been happening in your life.

And fancy that it hasn't rained at all (well, almost at all) for the last couple of weeks in Manchester... Things change!
